Educational Publishers Hit Jackpot of Distinguished Achievement Awards!
Huntington Beach, CA, June 10, 2008 -- The Association of Educational Publishers (AEP) recently announced the official winners of the prized Distinguished Achievement Awards (DAA) for 2008. Teacher Created Materials (TCM) and Shell Education (Shell) both were repeatedly called up to the podium to accept several honors.
"And the winner is" is a familiar phrase to TCM, a longtime publisher of various lines of successful products. This year, TCM is a proud new owner of five 2008 Distinguished Achievement Awards, all in the curriculum package category, capturing award-winning honors for products developed for language arts, social studies, and science. The standards-based content-area reading program, Exploring Nonfiction: A Differentiated Content-Area Reading Program, and two social studies resources from the Primary Sources series won, including Communities Around the Worldand Elections. TCM was also honored for Science Readers, a new resource kit that connects literacy and science, and TechTools Resource Kit for Digital Movie Making. Teacher Created Materials adds these coveted Distinguished Achievement Awards to their long list of awards including the Golden Lamp Award also from the Association of Educational Publishers, Teacher's Choice Award from Learning Magazine, and Best Product Award from Instructor Magazine.
Shell Education was presented with four awards -- one for its Reading and Writing Strategiesseries for both social studies and science, and the Leveled Texts for Social Studies series within the English language learners category. The Elections book won in the Social Studies Activity Books category, and in the Professional Development category, Shell is pleased to have picked up an award for Teaching Reading in the Content Areas for Elementary Teachers, part of the Professional Development for Successful Classroom series.
